Imperial Engineering Mock Interview
The interview for Engineering at Imperial is a vital part of the application process, designed to evaluate your critical thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of engineering principles. During the interview, you will face questions that challenge you to articulate your grasp of engineering concepts as well as their practical applications.
Interviewers are keen to see how you approach complex problems and analyse information, so thorough preparation for expressing your reasoning aloud is essential. Practising your ability to discuss intricate topics clearly and confidently will help you showcase your passion for engineering.
What are Imperial Engineering interview questions?
Can you explain the principles of circuit design? How would you approach designing a simple electrical circuit?
Explain the difference between AC and DC current. In what situations would you use one over the other?
What are some common methods for evaluating the reliability and safety of engineering systems?
Explain the concept of thermodynamics. How would you apply the laws of thermodynamics to a heat engine?
Can you provide an example of a time when you had to apply mathematics to solve an engineering problem?
How does the mock interview service work?
We offer all of our potential mock interview students a free consultation with one of our team of senior tutors. This is to allow them to explain what they are looking for for their mock interviews. The senior tutor will then chat to our network of Oxbridge Educated tutors to find a perfect group of tutors each of whom will each run their own interview in a slightly different but realistic style.
After each interview the student will receive both verbal and written feedback outlining what they did well and crucially, what they could do better.
We believe each student requires a bespoke, personalised service. We therefore don't require to students commit to any number of interviews before they start, but rather only until they feel confident they can do well in the interview!
